bio. [Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 ]

name: Jeremy Stanton
species: Just your regular ol' human
age/birthdate: 25 / May 18, 1984
occupation: Hunter; Researcher
personality: Simply put, Jeremy is a nice guy. He isn't particularly mean unless he has to be, would prefer flight than putting up dukes with someone even though he is sure he could get a good hit in if he struck first, and definitely keeps on the quiet side unless he has something important to say or if he is around Elena. Around her and really anyone he is comfortable around, he opens up a little more; is a little more talkative, a little funnier, and certainly a little less bookish than he usually is. Considering he is the researcher and navigator, finding these supernatural creatures to hunt, Jeremy is most commonly seen searching through information on 'those things that go bump in the night' on his computer or through, surprisingly enough considering modern technologies, books.

biography: Born and raised in Rochester, New York, there was really no need for Jeremy to be anything other than his best and his best, whether achieved through a hidden genius or because of strict parents who didn't even let him bring home a 'C' even though it was a passing grade, was more often than not straight A's with nothing but praise from his teachers. Elementary school through high school, it was all the same: he did his work, he stayed on the good side of things, and whenever he was involved in fights -- and this is nothing he is proud of -- he was on the receiving end of the hazing. So, when the consequences came around, he was free of it. No standing on the wall for him; no detention; no talks with the principle. Just the stigma of being a 'nerd'.

By the time high school rolled around, 'nerd' wasn't particularly a bad thing and it had made him a friend in Elena Matthews. No, she wasn't the sort of girl, appearance-wise, that Jeremy would typically be seen with, but they hit it off. Whereas he was the first to go to whenever there was some trouble with homework or she needed help passing a class, she did a good number on loosening him up a little bit and putting more in his repertoire than book smarts. The real test, however, was soon to come, high school life definitely the least of his worries when Elena's father wound up dead and her mother turned to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. It isn't something he brings up often and, while it was certainly a bad thing to happen and one he never wanted to see one of his friends let alone his best, Jeremy has let the thought pass through his head that if it didn't happen, he wouldn't be where he is now.

It brought on a new mission in life. Homework was turned in for plans and blueprints for weapons; books on math and science for books on demons and other creatures that went bump in the night; and Sherlock Holmes and Macbeth for The History of Murder and other Criminology texts. While it didn't seem to pull away from his studies too much, he certainly wasn't focused on bringing home the straight A's of the past so much as helping Elena in any way he could. He graduated although definitely not at the top of his class like he had originally hoped, more than happy to drop it for something new and something a lot more interesting than the college lifestyle he was sure to have.

Gathering up what clothing he could in a couple packs alongside his laptop with all his records, Jeremy joined up with Elena to hit the road. They were old enough to leave and they had the means, so why not get down to the bottom of things? When it turned out to be a werewolf, Jeremy had been prepared enough to at least what sort of weaknesses they had although how were they to know where to get silver bullets? Elena had managed to take him out -- well, one like the one who had killed her father -- and Jeremy had been sure to get his black belt in first aid, patching her back together as best he could and putting his first set of stitches in. If this was going to happen more than once, he was going to have to do something about it.

It toughened him up, all those years, Jeremy pulling more skills under his belt than every possible in the 'normal' world. He eventually learned how to fight and, while not the best at it, he certainly can hold up his own if need be. His research eventually grew, Jeremy putting whatever money he could into expanding his information banks. Using money borrowed from his parents who he make an effort to keep in contact with from time to time, he purchased a secure server to hold all the information, keeping the password in his brain and his brain alone. Just in case. Not like he wants the wrong information in the wrong hands, be they the particularly evil sort or some kid wanting to prove he was a hacker trying to summon some demon. He even learned a decent amount of first aid which only improved with every bruise and broken bone Elena managed to bring to him.

When hunting is on the low, there isn't much else for Jeremy to turn to, often immersing himself in some other studies of some sort or into video games whenever he has the means to play them. Friends are overrated when bringing them around only seems to put them in harm’s way and there certainly isn't a special lady in his life although that isn't to say he hasn't had a few flings. After all, there has to be something other than the supernatural although those relationships just never seem to last. He isn't too bothered by it, not that he leads on anyway, keeping a rather nonchalant attitude about it.

storylines:
Elena Matthews - His best friend since high school, Jeremy and Elena have been nearly inseparable since, eventually joining forces to hunt the supernatural. While she does the slaying more often than not, he pulls up the information she needs to do it, using whatever resources he has to do so.
